Cal. 30 Rem. S# C16977. Bbl. 22". Model 14 slide action rifle mfg. by Remington between 1912-1935. Top of the bbl. is marked with Remington's 3-line mfg. and patent information, with the Remington trademark logo and cal. designation marked on the left. Left side of the receiver features a factory brass disc marked "REM-UMC/ U/ 30 REM". Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt, which is polished in-the-white. Sanded and refinished grooved wood forearm and plain pistol grip buttstock with ventilated Pachmayr White Line recoil pad. Marbles No. 34M brass beaded blade front sight with semi-buckhorn U-notch rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain fair to good amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning fading to gray and brown patinas, scattered scratches and superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots and patches of light surface oxidation overall. Bore exhibits consistent light to mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions, with patches of finish wear, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. Underside of buttstock exhibits a small crack on the wrist that stems from the trigger guard tang. (25-6607/MLW). CURIO. $300-400.
